TRUST
I’M LIKE MONEY, everybody wants me and lots of it
but I don’t make anyone happy.
Premiere: 9.10.2025 Tanssin talon Pannuhalli, Helsinki
Tanssiteatteri Tsuumi and Teatteri Metamorfoosi produce a dance theater interpretation of German playwright Falk Richter’s play TRUST. The unique joint production brings one of the most famous German contemporary theater playwrights to Finland and the Finnish language for the first time. TRUST examines trust and its vulnerability in a capitalist world, where individuals live in the midst of global crises, uncertainty and rapidly emerging and disintegrating human relationships. In a world that emphasizes individualism and celebrates the ideal of freedom. It asks how we can trust technology, each other – or even ourselves?
TRUST is an explosive performance that combines dance, theater and digital media. It’s captivating, fast-paced, annoying, imaginative, addictive, humorous, and completely controlled by someone else… just like a TikTok video. TRUST takes the viewer on a taxi ride from big metropolises to the bottom of the sea, to parties where karaoke singers peel their skin, and to a luxurious skyscraper that is destroyed by artificial intelligence. And the audience is constantly asked the question: who can you trust?
Everything has become so safe in recent years
everything has become so safe
I am guided by an electronic navigator
which tells me exactly where to go
Guide me from outer space to absolute punctuality.
